Deck Washing
Deck washing is a critical first step before staining because dirt, mold, and old residue prevent stain from properly penetrating the wood. A thorough, controlled wash opens the wood grain and creates a clean surface for even absorption. Skipping or rushing this step leads to peeling, blotchy color, and premature stain failure.
Drying
